This workshop proves that the performer’s presence is based on a few technical skills that can be taught in three hours. Join us and learn how you can have presence on stage.

Getting Out of Character and Cooling Down

December 11, 2017

'Getting Out Of Character and Cooling Down' is a workshop led by This Is Not A Theatre Company Founding Co-Artistic Director Erin Mee. Actor training focuses on warming up and becoming the character, but what happens when you perform an intense role and have trouble getting out of character? How do you play an intense role and leave it at the theatre? Many actors have a drink to transition out of the world and energy of the show. This workshop focuses on healthy ways to cool down after performance. Offering a wide range of cool down exercises drawn from yoga, laughter seminars, sound baths, rasaboxes, and theatre games, this seminar gives the actor a series of tools, and a structure for creating their own cool down practice.
